Teller – Full Time with Benefits (Lincoln, NE)
Position Type: Permanent, Full Time (40+ hours per week), Benefits and Overtime Eligible
Compensation: Teller Trainee wages start at $11.00 per hour with additional incentives and a company gainshare plan
Location: Lincoln, NE (training will primarily take place at 501 North 48th Street and permanent, local branch assignment will occur after a 120-day review)
Hours: Shifts vary between the hours of 7:20 am and 6:10 pm Monday thru Friday and include a rotating Saturday shift. Our hours of operation are 7:30 am to 6:00 pm Monday thru Friday and 8:30 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday. We are closed on federal bank holidays.
Required Experience: 1+ years of cash handling, 1+ years of customer service (previous banking or sales experience is a plus)
Required Skills: Well-developed interpersonal skills, intermediate mathematical skills (calculations and concepts involving decimals, counting bills, making change, percentages, fractions, etc.) and the ability to make independent decisions within pre-defined guidelines
Description of Responsibilities: Liberty First Credit Union is a non-profit, person-centric financial institution. Our tellers serve our members by performing transactions, providing exceptional customer service, and making beneficial product recommendations. Each teller is assigned a private cash drawer where they are responsible for tracking their incoming and outgoing cash. Other duties will include transactions to deposit/loan products, the sale of money orders/cashier checks/gift cards, redeeming savings bonds, completing member check order requests, processing credit card cash advances and payments, assisting members in and out of the safe deposit area, encoding of savings bonds and the scanning of checks. Tellers are our front-line fraud defense and are charged with protecting the members and the credit union from monetary loss. Therefore, our tellers are trained to detect and report scams, examine checks for endorsements and negotiability, verify members’ identification and examine bills for authenticity.
