2018 are eligible to vote and only those 18 years or older as of February 28, 2018 are eligible to hold office. The election
process is described below.

The Board of Directors appointed a Nominating Committee to select candidates for two, 3-year Board terms. Steve
Dickey is the Committee Chairman. Profiles of their nominees are listed below.

Eligible members seeking office, but not selected by the Committee, may be nominated by petition. This process requires
the signatures of 1% of total Liberty First Credit Union members, with a minimum of 75 and a maximum of 500, 16 years
of age or older as of February 28, 2018.

Petition forms are available at the 46th & R Street branch. These forms request personal information about the nominee
that are used to provide a profile for the election ballot. The nominee is required to sign a certificate stating that they
agree to the nomination and are willing to serve if elected. The complete petitions must be returned to the Nominating
Committee no later than February 9, 2018.

The Committee nominated one candidate for each open position. If a candidate is nominated by petition, an election will
occur. A ballot listing all nominees will be posted in conspicous credit union locations by March 7, 2018. Confidential
ballot tabulation will be completed by the tellers of election which will be appointed by the board of directors.

ACH Changes
Changes to the rules for Automated Clearing House (ACH) credits and debits went into effect September 15, 2017. These changes mean that electronic credits and debits (including checks that you issue which are subsequently processed as electronic debits), may be eligible for processing on the same day that they are authorized by you.  This results in a faster payment system, which has great benefit when you are receiving a payment, but also means that payments you make may clear your account sooner than they have before.  This change applies to all financial institutions and merchants/vendors offering ACH services and all account holders receiving ACH transactions.
What does this mean to you?It is important to make sure that funds are available in your account before you make in-person, online, or via telephone payments to avoid incurring NSF or  overdraft fees. Checks should never be issued nor payments scheduled if sufficient funds are not available to satisfy the payment.  Previously, ACH transactions could have taken 1-2 days to process; now, the same transactions may post the same-day on which you authorize them.
