Notice of Board Elections
The election of credit union officers, according to Liberty First Credit Union by-laws, is to be conducted by ballot boxes
only when there is more than 1 nominee per position to be filled. Only members 16 years of age or older as of March 7,
2018 are eligible to vote and only those 18 years or older as of February 28, 2018 are eligible to hold office. The election
process is described below.
The Board of Directors appointed a Nominating Committee to select candidates for two, 3-year Board terms. Steve
Dickey is the Committee Chairman. Profiles of their nominees are listed below.
Eligible members seeking office, but not selected by the Committee, may be nominated by petition. This process requires
the signatures of 1% of total Liberty First Credit Union members, with a minimum of 75 and a maximum of 500, 16 years
of age or older as of February 28, 2018.
Petition forms are available at the 46th & R Street branch. These forms request personal information about the nominee
that are used to provide a profile for the election ballot. The nominee is required to sign a certificate stating that they
agree to the nomination and are willing to serve if elected. The complete petitions must be returned to the Nominating
Committee no later than February 9, 2018.
The Committee nominated one candidate for each open position. If a candidate is nominated by petition, an election will
occur. A ballot listing all nominees will be posted in conspicous credit union locations by March 7, 2018. Confidential
ballot tabulation will be completed by the tellers of election which will be appointed by the board of directors.
If the number of nominees remain equal to the number of vacancies, no ballot boxes will be placed and the nominees will
be elected by general consent in accordance with LFCU by-laws.

37-year LFCU member; 47-year BNSF employee; LFCU Board Director December 1995 to present (Treasurer April 1998
to present) and Supervisory Committee member December 1994 - 1995.
Richard (Rick) Batten, 60
40-year LFCU member; BNSF Yard Master; LFCU Board Director February 2008 to present; Supervisory Committee
member 2005 to February 2008.
